Chiffon Poppy Seed Cake

Ingredients

  • ½ cup poppy seed soaked in 1 cup water

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 ⅔ cup Wh. sugar

  • 3 tsp baking powder

  • pinch of salt

  • ½ cup oil

  • 7 beaten egg yolks (save the egg whites)

Instructions

In a bowl mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, make a well with the dry ingredients. Add the oil, beaten egg yolks, and the poppy seeds with the water to the dry mixture and mixed until combined. Then beat seven egg whites and ½ tsp cream of tartar. Then fold into the other mixture. Bake at 350° for 1 hour in a bundt pan or angel food pan.
